Migration Series
This work is a response to the global migration crises. Monarch butterflies migrate seasonally and their survival is threatened by loss of habitat caused by overdevelopment and climate change. Human migration is caused by lack of jobs, environmental disasters, persecution, and war. Many nation states respond to human migration by placing migrants in camps and their futures are bound in uncertainty. In the Migration Series, the wooden pallets and wire cages allude to the barriers and restrictions encountered during migration.
